Human Resources Management Minor

The human resources management function includes a variety of activities critical to the success of any organization. Key among them is deciding what staffing needs you have and whether to use independent contractors or hire employees to fill those needs, recruiting and training the best employees, ensuring they are high performers, dealing with performance issues, and ensuring your personnel and management practices conform to ethical standards. The human resources management minor offers the student the opportunity to expand his/her background in these essential decision areas. At least 12 credit hours must be taken at SUNY Poly. Any course substitutions must gain prior approval from the Department of Business Management via an academic petition. A student desiring a human resources management minor must apply through the Department of Business Management. A student must earn at least a “C” in each course in the minor for that course to be applied to the minor.
