Policy for the Awarding of a Posthumous Graduate Degree

SUNY Poly may award a graduate degree posthumously in recognition of a student’s work and satisfactory progress towards degree at the time of death.

To be considered for a posthumous graduate degree the student must have met the minimum credit-hour residency requirements of both the Institution and the academic program in which the student was matriculated, have made satisfactory progress towards earning the degree, and be in good academic standing. The request for consideration shall be reviewed by the faculty of the relevant program and/or department who will convey by writing its recommendation to the Provost.
