New student orientation, advisement and registration
New students are required to attend the Orientation Program offered at the start of every term, at which time they will be advised by faculty and register for classes. In addition to registering for classes, students have the opportunity to begin making positive connections with peers, faculty and staff during Orientation. Activities include:
- Orientation to college services, social life, residence life, athletics, leadership opportunities, and recreation programs.
- An overview of academic expectations, meetings with your academic advisor, and information on career services.
After depositing with SUNY Poly, first-year students will need to complete an online math placement exam prior to attending an Orientation program.
New transfer students who deposit at SUNY Polytechnic Institute will receive a program focused on their academic success with overviews on the following areas: Introduction to SUNY Poly, SUNY Poly email and SITNET ID information, fast facts about many campus offices, and much more.
Information related to orientation can be found on the orientation webpage.
