The minor in Humanitarian Studies provides students with the opportunity to include insights from health, social sciences, humanities and engineering to work together to design and produce assistive technologies for persons living with disabilities. The minor consists of three core and two elective courses. Students may apply for and be admitted to the minor after successful completion of the initial courses (IDS 220 and CBH 377) with a grade of C or better. Students will then select elective courses and enroll in capstone course (CBH 450). Students in CBH 450: Impact of Technology on Health will be paired with engineering and engineering technology students, to form multidisciplinary teams to work on design projects.
