Why did you choose SUNY Poly?

As an international student, I was looking at different universities, but I chose SUNY Poly because it had great diversity. Also I liked how small the class sizes were, and the campus is beautiful.

How did you decide on your major?

Since my childhood, I used to like computers and gadgets; I would always be curious about how they used to work and how to put them together. Eventually, when I started looking into it, I started to like coding, which is why I chose this major. In my major, I like how every small detail matters and how you can explore different things and build them.

How would you describe your relationship with your professors?

I have great interactions with my professors, as the class sizes are small, and each student gets an opportunity to meet the professors. They helped me in different ways, not only related to the course but explaining the real life situations and how to overcome them.

Have you conducted student research?

During the summer of 2022, I participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Program, where I had the opportunity to work in my field while learning new things; my work included working on both electrical and computer science. The research was to build a software design to test RERAM chips replacing probe stations which is cost and time efficient.

Are you involved in any campus clubs?

I’m a member of multiple clubs and help organize cultural events. I’m also a student senator in Student Government at Utica; it is an honor for me to be a student body for international students in the Student Government and represent them. I’m also a Student Ambassador for the Admissions office; I give tours and help organize events.

What are you going to miss most about your time on campus when you graduate from SUNY Poly?

I will miss my friends. I have made some great friends here at SUNY Poly.
