Why did you choose SUNY Poly?

I choose SUNY Poly for many reasons, one being the high-level accreditation that the business program has received, which is difficult to find at local colleges. I also choose Poly because of the many opportunities provided to students for internship/research positions and for building their personal brand. Overall this school was a great choice for students looking to get involved and receive a higher-level education at the same time.

Why did you choose to study Business Administration and Accounting?

I have always been interested in the business field, as my father owns a local business and I have always looked up to him throughout my life. A Business Administration degree provides you a broad business education in which you can learn about the different major fields and apply them to the real world. I also took on the Accounting degree as I wanted to focus particularly on the accounting field and have the degree to be eligible for most accounting positions.

How would you describe your relationship with your professors?

I always seek to form a relationship with my professors and have that connection with them after I finish their courses. I still talk to my past professors, and we share our experiences and talk about the business world.

What has been an impactful academic experience that sticks out to you?

I would say that Public Speaking provided the most impactful academic experience so far at SUNY Poly, mainly because everything we learned about can instantly be used outside of the classroom.

Have you completed an internship?

I completed an internship with Griffiss Institute over the past summer, working in the Finance division at the Air Force Research Lab in Rome, NY. This internship was a great opportunity to learn about governmental accounting and work with professionals while being paid very well. I highly recommend students to check out Griffiss Institute research internships and apply!

What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

I am currently the Student Government College Council Representative and have been selected to represent the student body on the Presidential Search Committee. I am also the Vice President of the Casual Debate Club and plan to work with the Entrepreneurs and Creatives for a Better World Club in the future.

Favorite class at SUNY Poly?

I would say Public Speaking with Dorrie Gregory was my favorite class I have taken at SUNY Poly so far. It was an amazing opportunity to become a better speaker and use my newly obtained presentation skills in the professional world.

Why should someone choose to attend SUNY Poly?

I would say the best experience I’ve had at SUNY Poly so far would be the amount of people I have met and talked to over my time here. The amount of amazing people I have met on this campus has definitely been the highlight of attending SUNY Poly and I will always cherish the memories I have made with everyone here.
