Services for Students with Disabilities

SUNY Polytechnic Institute is committed to fostering an inclusive campus environment that welcomes individuals of all abilities. The Office of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) works to ensure that students with disabilities have equitable access to the University’s programs, services, and activities in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

SUNY Poly provides academic adjustments and auxiliary aids at no cost to eligible students. Students with permanent or temporary disabilities or medical conditions are encouraged to contact SAS as early as possible to explore available supports. While documentation is helpful in understanding individual needs, it is not always required. Self-reports and the student’s own experience are valid components of the interactive process used to determine accommodations.

Examples of accommodations may include extended time on exams, use of assistive technology, one-on-one academic skills or executive function coaching, and housing modifications. SAS is here to assist students in identifying and coordinating the resources that support their success.
