Students will complete coursework that covers the foundations of modern AI/ML, gives them practical experience with current AI/MI technology and responsible/ethical practices, and explores theoretical concepts in the field. The minor culminates in a project-oriented capstone that goes beyond practice to reinforce an appreciation for the broad social and ethical impacts of these technologies.
The material and structure of this minor provide great value to SUNY Poly majors whose career paths would benefit from a core understanding of and hands-on experience with AI/ML. This could include students in Biology, Business/Finance, Mathematics, Health Sciences, Sociology, Communications, Engineering/Technology, Computer Science/Applied Computing, and Interactive Media and Game Design.
