Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer just a technical tool; it is becoming the new operating system of the global workforce. AI is rapidly transforming how organizations create value, compete, and innovate across industries. To remain competitive, the next generation of professionals must move beyond being passive users of AI to becoming intentional architects of AI-driven value.
This “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Business” minor is designed to equip students with business fundamentals and the operational, ethical, and strategic implications of AI technologies. The minor program combines technical foundations with high-level strategic application. The program will:
- Demystify the Tech: Provide a functional understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI without requiring an advanced degree in Mathematics or Computer Science.
- Build Strategic Competency: Teach students how to identify high-ROI AI use cases, manage AI-driven projects, and lead digital transformation.
- Foster Responsible Leadership: Integrate modules on AI ethics, policy, and the future of work to ensure students can lead with integrity.
This credential is intended for any student, regardless of their primary field of study, who strives to lead in a world where human creativity and machine intelligence intersect.

Additional Requirements
- At least three courses must be taken in residence at SUNY Poly. No more than two courses taken at other institutions may be applied to the minor.
- Courses taken at SNY Poly must have a grade of “C” or better to apply to the minor program. Transfer courses must have a grade of “C” or better to apply to the minor program.
