With an event theme of Splash into Wellness:  Shower Yourself with Good Health, the 2018 Spring Wellness Expo at SUNY Poly opened its doors to large crowds April 11, all looking to learn more about the best ways to lead healthier lives.

Open to the SUNY Poly community and the public at large, the event took place in the Campus Center gym with more than 130 exhibits and presentations on a variety of wellness topics from local businesses, agencies, and area nursing students.

“People are very interested in learning more about personal health and wellness and the resources that are out there and available within the community,” said Stacey Genther, Health Promotion Coordinator at SUNY Poly.

The wide variety offered attendees information on topics such as holistic health, reflexology, massage, vision, gerontology services, physical fitness and training, nutrition, environmental health, substance use/abuse prevention, mental health, health insurance, and sexual health.

Free health assessments and screenings were also available, along with giveaways, food and drink samples, chair massages, and on-site vaccinations.

In addition, the SUNY Poly Student Government at Utica held a blood drive with the American Red Cross.
