LaGatta joins SUNY Poly as AVP for Development
SUNY Poly welcomes Andrea LaGatta to the campus community as Assistant Vice President for Development.
In this role, LaGatta will serve as the key leader of all philanthropic and relationship-building programs and activities at both SUNY Poly’s Utica and Albany campuses. She will also develop, implement, and coordinate a comprehensive and effective philanthropic program focused on increasing endowments, gifts, and donors, as well as growing the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Foundation’s engagement with key stakeholders, including alumni, employees, community members, business leaders, and board members.
LaGatta brings more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of development, including major giving, annual giving, special events, grants, and stewardship. She has served as director of development at St. Elizabeth Medical Center/Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, in addition to working within the foundation office at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare in Utica. She has also played a significant role taking part in community service efforts through her positions on numerous local boards, including Human Technologies Corporation and Leadership Mohawk Valley, and she currently volunteers at the Utica Rescue Mission.
“I believe my experiences will help advance the development team and ultimately provide increased scholarships for our students, promote faculty and staff development, and contribute to campus enhancements,” LaGatta says. “As an alum of the SUNY System and parent of a current SUNY Poly student, I am committed to the college that provided me with the foundation needed to ultimately take on this new role.”
LaGatta holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State College and an associate’s degree from Mohawk Valley Community College.
