Renovations have begun to create a new cafe in the Cayan Library at the SUNY Poly Utica campus.
Local at Mario Cafe will offer coffee, tea, and other speciality drinks, as well as light food and small meals with a focus on local New York fare, including offerings from throughout the Utica area.
In addition to a café, there will be additional seating where students can meet, collaborate, and enjoy a great atmosphere in close proximity to academic support services.
During the last academic year, the area that will become the cafe was used as a temporary art studio. In order to accommodate the cafe renovations, the art studio has now been moved to the Mele Room on the second floor of the library.
The cafe is currently expected to open in January.
