Surveying students help honor heroes

This fall, students from SUNY Poly did their part to honor those who’ve put everything on the line for our country and freedoms.

Surveying students assisted The Good News Center prepare the lawn area on the Utica Memorial Parkway for the Annual Utica Healing Field of flags that were on display from November 4-12 to honor heroes and their families.

The lawns running along Utica’s Memorial Parkway again provided the setting for the 3rd Annual Utica Healing Field display of stars and stripes, a dramatic formation of 3 by 5 foot flags that fly from 7½ foot white poles in tribute to families.

The scene of red, white and blue flags flying against the blue sky present a memorable panorama that hopes to draw the community together.

Proceeds from the flag sponsorships will benefit the programs of the Good News Foundation, a non-profit organization to help strengthen marriages and families by offering marriage and relationship education programs and retreats.
