Works in Progress Seminar begins

SUNY Poly’s College of Arts and Sciences kicked off the Fall 2017 Works in Progress Seminar this month, giving presenters the opportunity to discuss their research in progress to the campus community.

The seminar began October 13 with the College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Advisory Group presenting Stories Across the Disciplines.

Presentations continue this month with a presentation scheduled Friday, October 20 with Christopher Henke, the Director of the Upstate Institute and Associate Professor of Sociology at Colgate University discussing Access to Locally-Sourced Food for Low-income Residents of Upstate New York.

Two faculty members are currently scheduled to present at the Works in Progress Seminar later this semester – Assistant Professor of Creative Arts & Technology Dr. Ana Jofre on A preliminary analysis of faces appearing in Time magazine 1923-2014 November 3 and Assistant Professor of Physics Dr. Emilio Cobanera on New geometric principles at ultra-short distances: Are nonlinear differential equations pointing the way? November 17.

The mission of these seminars are to foster awareness about the research interests among faculty and students, improve communication about the topic, and encourage future research opportunities.

All Presentations will take place in Donovan Hall 2132 from 2 – 3 p.m.
