Coverage includes financial statement preparation and analysis, internal control, and accounting systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>ACC 205 Managerial Accounting (4)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Controller use of accounting data to assist with decisions on budgeting, factor and product combinations, pricing, and for performance evaluation of segments of the firm.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Prerequisites: ACC 201, MAT 111 or equivalents, or permission of instructor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>ACC 310 Income Tax I (4)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Analysis of federal income tax legislation and IRS interpretations affecting individuals&#8217; returns.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This includes analysis of accounting methods used to determine gross income, deductions, capital gains\/losses, and business income.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Also includes instruction on availability and use of tax services.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Prerequisite: ACC 201 or equivalent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>ACC 311 Income Tax II (4)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Impact of federal tax legislation and IRS regulation on taxation of corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Special attention is given capital gains\/losses, normal tax and surtax, income and deductions of domestic and international\/multinational organizations.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Prerequisite:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>ACC 310 or equivalent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>ACC 312 Accounting Systems &amp; Computer Applications (3)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Introduces students to topics in the area of accounting information systems.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In addition to gaining exposure to commercially used accounting packages, students will gain an understanding of system documentation techniques including data flow diagrams, flowcharting, and E-R diagrams; internal control design and assessment; database design; information acquisition; and transactional accounting systems and accounting cycles.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Prerequisite:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>ACC 201 or equivalent and computer literacy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>ACC 370 Cost Accounting (3)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Cost accounting and related analytical concepts.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Topics include cost accumulation, variance analysis, joint costs, and standard costing.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Prerequisite: ACC 201 or equivalent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>ACC 385 Intermediate Accounting I (4)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">An advanced theory course in accounting, including problems in corporation accounting, evaluation of items on the balance sheet, and statement of income. The course emphasizes the opinions, statements, and other current publications of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Prerequisite: ACC 201 or equivalent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>ACC 386 Intermediate Accounting II (4)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Continuation of Intermediate Accounting I.
