{"id":5393,"date":"2017-06-28T18:32:45","date_gmt":"2017-06-28T18:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/undergrad-catalog\/?page_id=5393"},"modified":"2019-06-27T14:03:17","modified_gmt":"2019-06-27T14:03:17","slug":"cstep-collegiate-science-and-technology-entry-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/undergrad-catalog-2019-2020\/student-services\/cstep-collegiate-science-and-technology-entry-program\/","title":{"rendered":"CSTEP (Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SUNY Polytechnic Institute is one of more than 55 colleges offering CSTEP (Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program).<\/p>\n<p>Funded through a grant from the New York State Department of Education, CSTEP works to increase the number of historically under- represented as well as economically disadvantaged students who are or may be thinking of pursuing a degree in engineering, mathematics, science, technology, and health related fields of study.<\/p>\n<p>CSTEP offers students a wide range of support such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Research\/Internship opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to attend workshops\/conferences<\/li>\n<li>Networking<\/li>\n<li>Peer tutors<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities for presentation of student research\/capstone projects<\/li>\n<li>Financial assistance with graduate test preparation, (GRE, GMAT, MCAT, etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Student requirements for admittance and continuation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be enrolled full time (on campus)<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an academic standing of at least a 2.5 GPA<\/li>\n<li>New York state resident<\/li>\n<li>Be majoring in or considering to major in a STEM, ( Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics major) health related majors leading to professional licensure are also accepted<\/li>\n<li>African-American, Latino\/Hispanic American, Alaskan native, Native American, or demonstrate economic disadvantage, (all ethnicities) based on New York State eligibility income criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate in CSTEP programs \/events throughout the academic year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information, please e-mail CSTEP@SUNYPoly.edu.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SUNY Polytechnic Institute is one of more than 55 colleges offering CSTEP (Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program).
