Although Title IX is often associated with equal opportunity in athletics programs, the law is much broader and prohibits sexual harassment and sexual l violence (including rape, assault and coercion).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201cNo person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance\u2026\u201d 20 U.S.C. \u00a7 1681<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Under\u00a0Title IX, SUNY Polytechnic Institute\u00a0will\u00a0promptly respond to complaints of sex discrimination in a way that limits its effects and prevents its recurrence\u00a0<\/b><\/span>SUNY Poly has appointed Title IX Coordinators<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>to resolve complaints and address issues of sex-based discrimination and sexual misconduct, as well as dating violence, domestic violence, harassment and stalking.
