{"id":869,"date":"2013-03-05T13:59:01","date_gmt":"2013-03-05T18:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sunyit.edu\/apps\/catalog\/undergrad\/courses\/theater\/"},"modified":"2018-03-20T20:01:53","modified_gmt":"2018-03-20T20:01:53","slug":"theater","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/undergrad-catalog-2018-2019\/courses\/theater\/","title":{"rendered":"Theater"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>THR 300\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Theater Production (4)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A balance between academics and studio work.\u00a0 Students will learn about theatre history and production as well as actively participate in the mounting of a theatrical work.\u00a0 Using the varied talents of the class, we will select polished scenes, a one act play, a full length play, or an interactive educational play about current issues.\u00a0 The production may be a public performance or merely in-class final design and performance presentations.\u00a0 If a public performance, members of the class will provide the artistic and technical staffing of the production, under the overall guidance of the class instructor.\u00a0 Additional assistance may be provided by student volunteers not enrolled for credit.\u00a0 Because theatre is an art which draws upon many areas of skill and intelligence, some reflective work will be done to document each student\u2019s personal journey.\u00a0 There will be some class visits to areas theaters and\/or productions as these opportunities become available.
