{"id":2405,"date":"2013-05-20T17:05:20","date_gmt":"2013-05-20T22:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sunyit.edu\/apps\/catalog\/undergrad\/?page_id=2405"},"modified":"2018-07-30T14:20:20","modified_gmt":"2018-07-30T14:20:20","slug":"rnbsms-nursinged","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/undergrad-catalog-2018-2019\/programs\/nursing\/rnbsms-nursinged\/","title":{"rendered":"Accelerated RN to BS\/MS with a Major in Nursing Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/undergrad-catalog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2013\/05\/CCNE-Seal-CMYK.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4226 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/undergrad-catalog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/CCNE-Seal-CMYK.jpg\" alt=\"192797_CCNE_logo\" width=\"162\" height=\"136\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Students enrolled in the Accelerated BS\/MS program with a Major in Nursing Education can expect to complete the degree requirements within three years of full-time study after completion of an associate degree nursing program.\u00a0Students wishing to enter this program must have completed at least 64 applicable lower division credits and have taken the following courses prior to starting the program:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>English Composition<\/li>\n<li>Anatomy &amp; Physiology I &amp; II<\/li>\n<li>Microbiology<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to Psychology<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to Sociology<\/li>\n<li>Developmental Psychology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>AND two of the following \u00a0courses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Statistics<\/li>\n<li>Cultural Anthropology<\/li>\n<li>Genetics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students will need to complete three of\u00a0the following SUNY General Education silos if they do not transfer in sufficient upper division credits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>American History<\/li>\n<li>Western Civilization<\/li>\n<li>Other World Civilization<\/li>\n<li>Language<\/li>\n<li>Arts<\/li>\n<li>Humanities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><em>State University of New York (SUNY) policy prohibits SUNY Poly admission applications from inquiring into an applicant&#8217;s prior criminal\u00a0history. After acceptance, the College shall inquire if the student previously has\u00a0been convicted of a felony if such individual seeks campus housing or\u00a0participation in clinical or field experiences, internships or study abroad\u00a0programs. The information required to be disclosed under SUNY policy regarding\u00a0such felony convictions shall be reviewed by a standing campus committee\u00a0consistent with the legal standards articulated in New York State Corrections\u00a0Law.<\/em><\/h6>\n<h6><em>Students who have previously been convicted of a felony are advised that their\u00a0prior criminal history may impede their ability to complete the requirements of\u00a0certain academic programs and\/or to meet licensure requirements for certain\u00a0professions.
