{"id":851,"date":"2013-03-05T13:59:01","date_gmt":"2013-03-05T18:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sunyit.edu\/apps\/catalog\/undergrad\/courses\/management\/"},"modified":"2013-03-05T13:59:01","modified_gmt":"2013-03-05T18:59:01","slug":"management","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/undergrad-catalog-2013-2014\/courses\/management\/","title":{"rendered":"Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>MGT 307\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Organization Behavior (4)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Managerial practices will be studied using a strong emphasis on the importance of individuals\u2019 behaviors influencing the effectiveness of organizational performance.\u00a0The course combines a review of organizational behavior, based upon theory and research in the social sciences, and a variety of individual and small group activities intended to aid students in applying theory to the management of varied organizations.\u00a0Subject matter includes key topics such as organization-structures, motivation, perception, conflict, communication, leadership, decision making, cultural diversity, and multinational perspectives for managers.<\/p>\n<p><b>MGT 318\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Human Resources Management (4)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Current managerial thought recognizes the importance of human resource contributions to organizational effectiveness and goal achievement.\u00a0A key aspect of this course is the focus on state\u2011of\u2011the\u2011art systems which support basic business objectives as well as foster good working relations between employees and managers.\u00a0Topics include: human resource planning; legislative and legal requirements; staffing; performance evaluation; employee relations; and compensation.
