Like many working professionals, Doug Cohen finds himself juggling \u2013 whether it\u2019s his role as Associate Director of Academic Technology Services at Open SUNY, or the many responsibilities that come with a family, and he needed a degree program that offered the flexibility to accommodate his schedule.<\/p>\n

Fortunately for Doug, the Information Design Technology (IDT) program at SUNY Poly is an exclusively online program that fit the bill and schedule for his busy life and allowed him to graduate in 2014 while still navigating all of life\u2019s chaotic moments.<\/p>\n

\"Doug<\/a>\u201cEarning a degree online is extremely rewarding,\u201d he says. \u201cAny student considering an IDT degree should understand that the curriculum is multi-faceted so it can be applied to nearly any discipline and\/or career.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doug sought admission to SUNY Poly to further enhance his career, confident that he would be able to immediately incorporate the myriad of new skills from the IDT curriculum into his day-to-day professional life.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy IDT degree is applied to nearly every facet of my current job,\u201d he says. \u201cEvery communication, from writing an email to creating a presentation for a global audience, needs to be designed.\u00a0 The IDT degree has given me the knowledge to design communications in the most effective manner for the means in which they are delivered.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to his role at Open SUNY, Doug also is now on the opposite end of the desk at SUNY Poly, serving as an Adjunct Instructor teaching courses in web design and development. He has also enjoyed developing websites for a number of local and community organizations.<\/p>\n

\u201cI find these projects extremely rewarding to be a part of because they allow me to use my skills to give back to the local Utica community,\u201d he said. \u201cStudents considering the IDT program should know that they can develop life-long relationships through the online program. I can\u2019t recommend it enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
