Playing a large role in that effort is Deerfield Native Robert Scholefield, who serves as an executive vice president of MVHS.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>He stayed local for college, earning his Health Services Management (HSM) Degree from SUNY Poly (then State University of New York College of Technology at Utica-Rome).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cSUNY provided a local opportunity for quality education and accepted all of my credits for transfer from St. Elizabeth College of Nursing,\u201d he explained. \u201cAfter graduation from Nursing School, I opted to take a direction toward management, so the HSM curriculum fit.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Scholefield added that the course work, coupled with the local residency related to healthcare administration, provided practical experience.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1783\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Headshot_Scholefield_Bob_4x5_B-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Robert Scholefield headshot\" width=\"388\" height=\"485\" srcset=\"https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Headshot_Scholefield_Bob_4x5_B-819x1024.jpg 819w, https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Headshot_Scholefield_Bob_4x5_B-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Headshot_Scholefield_Bob_4x5_B-768x960.jpg 768w, https:\/\/webapp.sunypoly.edu\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Headshot_Scholefield_Bob_4x5_B.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 388px) 100vw, 388px\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cSUNY Poly offers a high-quality education, is close by, is a perfect opportunity for the students, and at the same time, it is a valuable asset to the Mohawk Valley region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>He concludes, \u201cFor those wishing to financially support both education and the Mohawk Valley, SUNY Poly provides the perfect opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s an exciting time in healthcare in the Mohawk Valley, most notably with the recent opening of Mohawk Valley Health System\u2019s (MVHS) Wynn Hospital.
