Why did you choose SUNY Poly?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The main things that drew me to SUNY Poly were the class sizes and school population, which was smaller than the rest of the universities that I was accepted to. I wanted a close relationship with my professors, and I realized that would be easier at a smaller campus. I came to visit, and I really enjoyed the campus; it wasn’t too big, wasn’t too small. It was just the right size for me.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Why did you choose Civil Engineering Technology as a major?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I have always enjoyed learning about structures and infrastructure and how they can be built and maintained. In high school, I wanted to learn about architecture, and attended community college when I got older. As I researched a major in architecture more, I realized that I was more interested in the engineering aspect of things compared to design.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Is there an impactful academic experience that stands out to you during your time at SUNY Poly?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I’m currently serving as the President of the SUNY Poly chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)<\/a>. Last spring, our club went to Cornell University for the steel bridge competition\u2014it was a great experience! We met a bunch of other engineering majors from other schools; we were picking each other’s brains on our majors and what we were interested in, so it was nice.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
