\"Eve<\/a>A single-page r\u00e9sum\u00e9 would not do justice to Eve Van de Wal. Her career has comprised an array of roles with increasing\u00a0clout in the healthcare field; a textbook example of climbing the corporate ladder. While her professional impact in the\u00a0healthcare field is significant, her community involvement and educational accomplishments show a well-rounded, motivated,\u00a0and driven woman.<\/p>\n

Van de Wal began her career as a Registered Nurse working for more than a decade in the Critical Care unit of Utica\u2019s\u00a0Faxton Hospital. In the late 1990s she decided to venture into healthcare administration by taking a position with Excellus\u00a0BlueCross BlueShield.<\/p>\n

Over the next 13 years, she would move up the corporate ladder in various\u00a0managerial roles until being named regional president in 2008.<\/p>\n

Before stepping into her role as regional president, Van de Wal pursued not one, but\u00a0two master\u2019s degrees, graduating in 2007 with a M.S. in health services administration and the following year with an MBA.\u00a0For both degrees, choosing SUNY Poly wasn\u2019t a difficult decision for Van de Wal. \u201cI could have gone to Syracuse University or\u00a0Cornell. SUNY Poly is local and provided me with an education that I value. I\u2019m proud to have my degrees\u00a0from such a great college.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the experiences she valued most as a graduate student was learning from her classmates, many of whom came\u00a0from different age groups and backgrounds. \u201cIt was a cross-generational group of students. We had different strengths. I\u00a0learned from them\u00a0and they learned from me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Van de Wal is a proponent of education and considers the educational goals of her\u00a0employees a priority, counseling them individually. How does she find the time in her\u00a0busy schedule? \u201cEducation is never wasted. It\u2019s not only valuable to the individual but\u00a0also positively impacts our company in the best way possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
