Collegiate Art Exhibit on display

The 2017 Collegiate Art Exhibit, a juried art show with local colleges, is on display in the Gannett Gallery in Utica through April 20.

The artwork of students from colleges across central New York is on display at SUNY Poly in Utica as part of the Collegiate Art Exhibit.

Adhering to the highest standards of quality, the juried exhibit sought out beautifully executed work that presents an artist’s unique style and engages viewers intellectually, emotionally, and visually. Judged by a panel of jurors made up of professional art and media specialists, pieces are evaluated on overall artistic excellence determined by presence of composition and design, focal point, use of color, creativity, feeling, and choice of subject matter.

Featuring formats that range from photography to oil, watercolor, glasswork, pottery, and much more, the Collegiate Art Exhibit is on display at the Gannett Gallery in Kunsela Hall on the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Utica campus until April 20, 2017

An opening reception was held on Wednesday, March 29.

The Gannett Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
