Register for Faculty/Staff vs. Students Voice-Off

Dust off your pipes, start practicing do re me, and get back to singing in the shower, because SUNY Poly is looking for a few good voices to face off in the very first Faculty/Staff vs. Students Voice-Off.

To be held 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 in the Student Center Pub, contestants will compete to win over both a panel of judges and members of the audience as they compete for a cash prize of $200 as well as an additional $200 donated to the charity of their choice.

Contestants are allowed to perform two selections for judges to critique but must come prepared to sing a song of their choice either a cappella or with their own instrumental accompaniment, (i.e. guitar, violin, etc.).

Participants who would like back-up music must provide their own materials.Instructional Resources will be providing a speaker, microphone and AUX cord to plug into a laptop. Participants can either bring a CD and it will play over the speaker or they can look up music on YouTube to do the same.

All performances must be done in good taste, meaning no music or lyrics that may be considered offensive. And no special lighting, props, or special effects may be used.
