Final exam week is always an anxious and stressful time in the life of many college students across the country.
At the SUNY Poly the Office of Residential Life and Housing, a great deal of time and effort is put into easing the burden of these cold winter days of finals week for students.
The week of finals, student members of the Oriskany Residence Hall Association (RHA) created mini gift bags of candy, pens, pencils and motivational quotes and went door to door in Oriskany Hall to deliver a quick break and a smile to the fury of studying students.
The department also hosted evening study hours right in the office in the Campus Center in the evening.
“We like to make our outer office like a living room for students to feel at home, to have a place they can study or to find a few friends and relax” says Jennifer Adams, Director of Residential Life and Housing.
In Albany, Assistant Director Nicole Baptiste hosted a number of stress relief programs including a hydration station, finals week care packages and a message therapist.
The Residential Life department is not only working hard to bring a smile to the faces of students, as Student Activities is also lending a hand, hosting a stress relief night in the Campus Center and partnering with Sodexo to host the Late Night Breakfast. Students stopped in to be served a hot breakfast from Faculty and Staff, a tradition that brings our campus community together in support of our students as they finish their long hours of studying.
