Be the Match Marrow Donor Registry Drive

October 2016

Be-the-Match-R_RGBEvery year, thousands of patients with leukemia or other blood cancers are in need of a bone marrow transplant.

And while you may not realize it, you could be the one to save their life.
Although some of those patients in need of a transplant have family members who can donate, roughly 70 percent do not. The lives of these patients depend on finding an unrelated donor and that donor could be you.
On Tuesday, October 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Be the Match Marrow Donor Registry Drive will be held at the Student Center Lobby of SUNY Poly in Utica.
The registry event, sponsored by SUNY Poly Nursing Club and the SUNY Poly Health & Wellness Center Program, is completely free and open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 44.
