Robert EdgellRobert Edgell, assistant professor of technology management presented “Toward an architectural theory of innovation: Explicating design, networks, and microprocesses” and “Speaking in tongues: Design culture, discursive practices, and metaphors” at the Academy of Management Conference, August 8-11, Vancouver, Canada.

Zhanjie LiZhanjie Li, assistant professor of civil engineering, participated in a meeting of the the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Committee on Specifications and Committee on Framing Standards, July 14-16, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Francia ReedFrancia Reed, clinical assistant professor of nursing, attended the NLN Education Summit for Nurses, September 29-October 3, Las Vegas, Nev.

Kathryn StamKathryn Stam, associate professor of anthropology, co-authored “Struggling to Start Over: Human Rights Challenges for Somali-Bantu Refugees in the United States,” published in August in the International Journal of Human Rights.

Shannon PrittingLibrary Director Shannon Pritting recently received the Rivenburgh Innovation Award for his role in the cross-institution IDS Logic Development Team. IDS Logic is a next generation resource sharing software that connects, via web services and APIs, library platforms that previously remained separated.  Since its creation  by Pritting and Michael Mulligan from Upstate Medical University, IDS Logic has been adopted by 85 libraries, including IDS Project Members and development partners such as Yale University, University of Oregon, and Northwestern University. IDS Logic was also a 2014 winner of the Teresa Strozik Award for Innovation in Library Technology.
