Faculty activities

Lena Bertone, lecturer in writing, is the author of Behind This Mirror, a collection of short stories published in January by Origami Zoo Press, St. Louis, Mo., and Letters to the Devil, an epistolary novella published in February by The Lit Pub. Letters to the Devil won The Lit Pub’s 2nd annual prose contest. Bertone will read from her works at a book-signing April 29 at Le Moyne College in Syracuse.

Kathryn Stam, associate professor of anthropology, will present “Resettled Refugee Perspectives on Community, Social Support and Citizenship,” at the Society of Applied Anthropology meeting, March 24-28, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Veronica Tichenor, associate professor of sociology and community and behavioral health, has been invited to join the editorial board for Gender and Society, the leading journal in gender scholarship. She attended the Sociologists for Women in Society meeting, February 18-22, Washington, D.C.
