Students explore cutting-edge technologies and industry practices in a structured, accessible format, making it ideal for those looking to build new technical competencies without requiring extensive prior specialization.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Courses are delivered entirely online, allowing students to balance professional, academic, and personal commitments while advancing their careers. Faculty bring a combination of industry experience and research expertise, guiding students through practical applications and emerging trends shaping modern technology sectors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Who Should Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students admitted to the program typically hold a bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution. While a background in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, natural sciences, or a related STEM field is preferred, it is not required. Applicants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program is designed to support both working professionals and full-time students. With courses delivered fully online\u2014including asynchronous and select synchronous components\u2014students can balance academic study with professional and personal commitments. Transfer credit for post-baccalaureate coursework or certificates may be awarded on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Program Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program requires a <strong>minimum of 33 credits<\/strong>, consisting of:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li><strong>9 credits of required coursework<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>12 credits in a selected track<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>12 credits of general electives<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students may also choose a 6-credit thesis sequence (MST 690 and MST 691) as a culminating experience. The thesis option allows for independent research, applied analysis, or project-based work aligned with the student\u2019s area of specialization.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Available Tracks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The M.S. in Advanced Technology offers three focused tracks:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li><strong>Semiconductor<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Advanced Manufacturing<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Robotics<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each track provides specialized knowledge and skills while maintaining flexibility for interdisciplinary study.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>What You Will Study<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><strong>Required Courses (9 credits)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students complete three courses from the following:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>MST 503: Recent Advances in Advanced Technology<\/li>\n<li>DSA 503: Data Collection and Design<\/li>\n<li>TIM 500: Project Management<\/li>\n<li>TIM 530: Managing New Product Design and Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><strong>Track Courses (12 credits)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students select one of the following tracks:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Semiconductor Track:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>MST 674: Semiconductor Device and Fabrication<\/li>\n<li>MST 675: Semiconductor Characterization<\/li>\n<li>MST 690: Thesis I<\/li>\n<li>MST 691: Thesis II<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Advanced Manufacturing Track:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>MST 692: Materials Selection in Design<\/li>\n<li>MST 694: Advanced Manufacturing with Metals: Fundamentals and Applications<\/li>\n<li>MST 690: Thesis I<\/li>\n<li>MST 691: Thesis II<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Robotics Track:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>MST 650: Industrial Robotics<\/li>\n<li>MST 651: Autonomous Robots<\/li>\n<li>MST 690: Thesis I<\/li>\n<li>MST 691: Thesis II<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>General Electives (12 credits)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students complete 12 credits of general electives.
