The concentrations in the Interactive Media and Game Design major are not coded separately in Banner. This particular program requires students to pursue their undergraduate degree first, except where the courses overlap. While enrolled as an undergraduate student, you may take up to four (4) courses at the graduate level to fulfill both undergraduate and graduate program requirements. Each semester in which graduate coursework is taken, an academic petition must be completed indicating how the coursework will be used to meet the BS and MS program requirements. Upon completion of the undergraduate degree program, you will need to apply to graduate with the Bachelor's degree and contact the Graduate Center to inquire about the abbreviated application for the graduate program. BS/MS in Computer Science: This particular program requires students to pursue their undergraduate degree first, except where the courses overlap. Students in the joint program may apply up to twelve credits of graduate coursework to both the undergraduate and graduate degrees simultaneously. Each semester in which graduate coursework is taken, an academic petition must be completed indicating how the coursework will be used to meet the BS and MS program requirements. BS/MS in CID/IDT: Students in the joint program may apply up to six credits of graduate coursework to both the undergraduate and graduate degrees simultaneously. The double-counted coursework will be chosen from the Core and Elective Courses in the graduate program and applied to the undergraduate track electives. BS/MS in Nursing: The RN to BS/MS student will receive both BS and MS degrees upon completion of all degree requirements for both degree programs. This means there will be no BS degree conferred after the first year of study. When the student is ready to officially transition to the graduate program, they should contact Graduate Admissions. The semester BEFORE all requirements are complete for both programs, the student must submit TWO graduation applications (one for the BS, one for the MS) and pay two diploma cover fees. You will also have to submit an Academic Petition to indicate which four 500-level courses should be double-counted for both degrees. When you apply to graduate from your Bachelor degree program, you should contact the Graduate Center to apply for official admission to the graduate program. When you are ready to take a graduate-level course, the form is available online on the Registrar's Web page. Look for the Petition for Graduate Courses, and make sure that you select the option to take the course for Graduate Credit. Once you have completed the course, you may submit an Academic Petition to apply the course to both your undergraduate and graduate degree record. DUAL BACCALAUREATE DEGREES: In addition to satisfying all course and credit requirements for each major, earning dual Baccalaureate degrees requires the student to complete (at minimum) an additional 30 credit hours in residence at SUNY Polytechnic Institute beyond the requirements for the first degree for each additional degree earned. When ready to graduate, you must submit a separate graduation application for each degree and pay one diploma cover fee for each degree. A minimum of 8 credits in the minor must be earned in residence at SUNY Poly (cannot be transfer credit). CNSE Students adding Applied Math as a second major: The Applied Mathematics major requires a minimum of 12 credits in upper division courses to be taken in residence at SUNY Poly. Only courses taken for the first/primary major may be eligible for cross registration and/or financial aid. Only courses required for the first/primary major are eligible for Cross-Registration. If that does not work, your advisor may run a What-If analysis. At the request of your Academic Unit, your program has been changed from the Accelerated BS/MS to the BS-only. Only the first/primary major will appear on the diploma. Students must declare a major by the time they complete 60 credits. See Additional Notes, below.
