These are the only reasons for reprinting a Form I-20 from SEVIS. Students should not request multiple copies of their Form I-20 if the document has not been updated, or otherwise damaged/lost/stolen. This request form cannot be used for travel authorization signatures. All travel requests must be submitted using the Travel Authorization Signature request form.

Students applying for OPT/STEM OPT Extension in the next 2-3 months should NOT request a reprint of their Form I-20.

There are VERY limited reasons why you should request a reprint of your Form I-20 if you are anticipating applying for OPT or STEM OPT in the near future. Regardless of the reason for your reprint request, you should proceed with your OPT or STEM OPT Extension request. You will be issued an updated Form I-20, which will list all current information AND your OPT/Stem request information. Any request for reprint during this time will be denied unless a reprint is truly justified. Students anticipating an application for OPT/STEM OPT should proceed with their application and will receive an updated Form I-20 once that request is processed.

I should not be requesting a new I-20 using this form until my OPT/STEM OPT is approved, unless absolutely necessary (eg: for the DMV, tax purposes, etc).

Students who will be applying for OPT or STEM OPT Extension should submit the request for the OPT/STEM OPT Extension Form I-20 instead of a reprint request. Students may use the OPT/STEM OPT requested Form I-20 for all necessary purposes, and this document will contain all current information.

**Please note** "Updated information" is not a valid reason to request a reprint if you will be applying for OPT/STEM OPT in the next few months. You should submit your OPT/STEM OPT request and use the Form I-20 issued for you at that time for all purposes.
